Running, jumping, walking, squatting, getting up from a chair - those are all movements that require the extension of the hip. So the ability to feel the glutes and contract them correlates to high athletic performance. You can run faster, jump higher and stand up from your chair quicker. I’ve found a common theme amongst the corporate noon time gym goers: They lunge, they squat, and they run 5 miles over lunch, skip out on the stretching and go straight back to work where they sit on their un-stretched glutes for another 4 hours. |
